| Description: | Sample the best tastes and treats of Central Texas under one roof. The 4th Annual Flavors of Central Texas is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center. This event is designed to please the palates of all who attend. Restaurants, caterers and bakers set up beautifully decorated booths and offer samples of their finest foods. Non-food vendors will also participate by setting boots to showcase their products and services. Celebrity Chef Steve Southern will be on hand to talk to guests, give a cooking demonstration and help judge the Top Chef competition. Chef Southern is the Executive Chef at The Vineyard at Florence and the owner of Southern's Fine Dining. He has nearly 30 years of industry experience and a distinguished career that includes leadership positions at restaurants and hotels throughout Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. Chef Southern has cooked for presidents, athletes, musicians and now he'll come out and cook for us. There will also be a silent auction, two cooking competitions resulting in five different awards, cooking demonstrations, and more! The cooking competitions will consist of a People’s Choice Award and a Top Chef Competition. Tickets prices are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, $10 for children ages 5-13 and children under 5 are free.
