Southwestern Medical Center hosts “Warrior Resilience and Thriving-WRT” presentation by Fort Sill Trauma Expert to mental health providers
Major Thomas Jarrett, LCSW, a Doctoral Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute and Ft. Sill Social Work Chief will give a 90 minute presentation entitled “Warrior Resilience and Thriving-WRT” to address this post-traumatic opportunity for growth. His presentation will be held Friday, January 8th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Great Plains Technology Center, room 301. All community Mental Health providers, Educators and Community Leaders are welcome to attend this free powerful presentation.

Mothers of Duncan (MoD), will be having our January meeting on Monday January 11th at First Baptist Church in Duncan (901 W Ash) from 9am-11am. We are a non-denominational group and any mom is welcome to attend. Moms get a chance to fellowship with other moms in the area, listen to guest speakers on various topics, do a craft and have opportunities to make our community a better place for all of us. We meet the second Monday of every month from Sept-May. The registration fee for the upcoming half of the year will be $10 with that going to pay for childcare and other activities throughout the year. Each meeting requires a $5 fee to help pay for the craft, snacks and door prizes that we do each meeting. We have scholarships available to those who need help. Do not let that stop you from coming and meeting new friends. This meeting we will be kicking off the New Year with tips on how to stay healthy. We will also be doing a fun craft with our Christmas cards that we received this year. (Please bring your cards with you to the meeting). We look forward to meeting you!!!

The Fort Sill Apache casino will match all cash donations up to a maximum of $10,000. The event will benefit the American Red Cross. Checks can be made payable to: American Red Cross International Response Fund, and checks or cash donations can be made on site at the casino.
